Being Present: Month 2 check in

We’re now three months into the year, how am I doing on my goal of being more present?

Still have loads of work to do.

At this point, I can’t tell if I’m getting better at being present, and therefore worrying and stressing less about things outside of my control OR am I just disinterested, depressed and removed from my thoughts and feelings these past few weeks? Writing that out isn’t easy, but……I know I’m not alone in with the struggle of depression. Therefore, it’s my hope I can be helpful to others who may be struggling…cause you’re not alone either.

What I read last month:

-Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis

-The Next Right Thing by Emily P Freeman

-Cast in Shadow by Michelle Sagara

-Produced by Faith by DeVon Franklin

-Jesus Feminist by Sarah Bessey

-The Rise Podcast with Rachel Hollis

-The Next Right Thing with Emily P Freeman

-Super Soul Sessions with Oprah

(I’d love some podcast recommendations!)

What I’m going to focus on in March, in order to be more present:

-when I feel myself getting angry or stressed about something outside of my control, I promise to stop, take three deep breaths and repeat “calm” on the inhale and “down” on the exhale. Or “let” and “go” or something along those lines.

-I will spend more time in prayer and meditation each morning upon waking and each evening before sleeping

-I will be active every day

-I will drink more water!

How about you? Did you pick a word of the year? How’s it going so far?
